PASTOR’S AID – The purpose of the pastor’s aid ministry is to assist the pastor with his family’s needs. This ministry helps to relieve many of the financial burdens off the shoulders of the first family while also showing through a variety of expressions their love for and appreciation of his services. The pastor’s aid stands ready to assist the under- shepherd in order that he may give his time to the spiritual responsibilities of his calling.
CONQUERING KINGS – The men of Wright Street strive to develop an atmosphere which encourages men to take their rightful place in the church. This ministry holds regular meetings to discuss new and effective procedures to help the men and young men of the church to become better equipped to give adequate leadership and guidance in the church, home, and family.
WOMEN OF FAITH – This ministry is designed to meet the varying needs of our women in the congregation. They meet regularly to learn and share with each other as well as hear from local leaders. They maintain an exciting calendar of events to address the needs of the full person which include education, excitement and fun.
IROCC CHILDREN & YOUTH – The children and youth ministry strives to maintain and program of spiritual growth and development for our young members. A variety of classes are offered to meet their needs as they learn more and more about the Christian life. Fun and innovative teaching is utilized to help our congregation build up their faith and confidence in Christ for their futures.
HEALTH & WELLNESS – The design of this ministry is to ensure that we as a congregation are always cognizant of the fact that the body is the temple of God. Through a regular regiment of exercise and educational seminars, we strive to meet the health needs of our members. We also provide regular visitations to member and friends who because of health issues have become incapacitated so that the expression of our love is never in question.
NEW MEMBERSHIP MINISTRY – The New Membership Ministry maintains a working database of the church congregation. This ministry upon the arrival of new members prepares and administers required orientation. The new member’s ministry provides preparation for new baptism converts by giving an educational overview about baptism to each new convert prior to baptism.
NOT EASILY BROKEN – The Marriage and Enrichment ministry is designed to develop couples and families into the images outlined in the scriptures. God established husbands, wives, and children to give inspiration of positive living to people struggling to capture the environment of love. Our ministry focuses on providing information seminars, strategies, and positive events in order to promote heavenly harmony within the home, church, and total community in which we live.
MUSICAL INSPIRATION – The ministry of music consist of a variety of choirs and a praise team which provide the music for our regular services of worship. Through this ministry, many people who struggle with the burdens of life are lifted. This ministry provides musical opportunities for members of all ages. Historically, the sound of good gospel singing has been provided to mark the heart beat of the church’s love for Jesus Christ.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH FOOD BANK – The goal of the food bank ministry is to provide assistance to individuals and families in need. Through this ministry we strive to introduce individuals to the glory of God and the love of Jesus Christ. We share the word with them prior to given out donations because we believe that they should know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY – The hospitality ministry helps to set the atmosphere with the warm expression of love shown to our members and guest representing the heart and passion of the pastor and congregation. This ministry provides weekly greeters who do all they can to make every person feel at home in our worship services. They also provide a weekly reception for visitors as a formal acknowledgement of our gratitude and appreciation for their visit.
USHER MINISTRY – The role of the ushers in the church congregation is to provide a positive image for the church. In conjunction, the usher ministry assists the pastor and church leadership in maintaining a comfortable flow to the church worship services. They also assist the leadership with the collection of financial offerings in the most efficient manner possible without disturbance to the integrity of the worship.
AUDIO-VISUAL – The purpose of this ministry is to build and maintain an archive of our various services of worship and special events for posterity. This ministry will prepare and provide both CD and DVD recordings for personal enjoyment.
TRANSPORTATION – The transportation ministry is designed to provide adequate transportation for individuals needing to get to the church for various worship services. This ministry maintains a working route so that all who want to be in worship will have a dependable means. They oversee the regular upkeep of the church’s transportation fleet ensuring regular maintenance to provide the best and safest service.
MARKETING & PROMOTION – The ultimate goal of this ministry is to provide and outlet to the local community of the Wright Street Baptist Church’s existence and schedule of events. This ministry furthermore keeps the pastor and congregation abreast of local events which would help in the development of our community wide relationships. The marketing and promotion ministry searches for avenues through which we can draw the attention of the public in an effort to make ourselves available to those who are presently living without Jesus Christ and a church home.
FAMILY ENRICHMENT – The purpose of this ministry is to develop and keep a working calendar of events that are designed to support the church family's "me time”. As congregations grow, we believe the need for laid back fellowship helps to build long and strong personal relationships. Through this ministry we will provide an outlet of activities which will enable our members to enjoy the company of other members, in a relaxed environment filled with fun, food, and fellowship.
