WHO'S THAT MAN OF GOD?
Pastor Marion R. Daniels is a native of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Educated in the public school system, he grew up embedded within the home of a God-fearing mother and a spiritually overseeing grandmother. On June 4th, 1983, he was married to his wife of almost 41 years, Paula (Lewis) Daniels. To this union God added two beautiful children, Tierra and Tevin; three beautiful granddaughters named Jordyn, Madisyn, and Makenzye; a two grandsons named Kylen and Tristen.
At the age of 8 years old, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church in Bowling Green, KY. On September 6th, 1985, the Spirit of God entered the home of Marion and Paula for the specific purpose of calling a young 23 year old man into the ministry of preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Daniels began his ministry under the leadership of Pastor Zachariah Nichols; and on October 20th of that same year by preaching his first sermon from Joshua 24:15 and Matthew 6:24. His sermon topic was entitled, “You Got to Make a Choice”. Since preaching his very first sermon, Pastor Daniels has welcomed the chances to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in a variety of cities and states across the country as the Lord gives him opportunity.
In March of 1989 following the sudden resignation of his church’s pastor, he was selected by the body to serve as the interim pastor of his home church. After leading the church through this tough period, the church saw fit to accept the leading of the Spirit of God and they called Rev. Daniels to serve as their pastor. For more than five years he served as the under shepherd of the Seventh Street Missionary Baptist Church of Bowling Green, KY. On August 21, 1994, after been directed by the Spirit of God, he was led to the Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah, KY. Pastor Daniels served this congregation for eight and a half years, and during his ministry, these two churches grew and prospered for the glory of God.
Pastor Daniels by the guidance of the Holy Spirit began to seek the opportunity to strengthen himself educationally, so in August of 1995 he began attending Mid-Continent University. After five years of study, Pastor Daniels became a 2000 graduate of Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, KY, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies and his minor is Psychology & Counseling and Christian Education.
In February of 2003 after much prayer, Pastor Daniels and his family relocated to the Metro-Atlanta area and cast their lots with the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Marietta, GA under the leadership of Pastor Benjamin Lockhart, Jr. During his family’s five year ministry at Pleasant Grove, Pastor Daniels served in several capacities, but his primary calling was serving as the Spiritual overseer of the church’s Children and Youth Ministry.
In March of 2008, while the Wright Street Baptist Church of Marietta, GA was without a pastor, the church continued to pray. These prayers were answered, and God chose Rev. Marion R. Daniels to lead this church into a deeper relationship with him. For 16 years, Wright Street has seen the demonstration of God’s power in many ways. Presently, many souls have been added to the kingdom and many new and former members have come to unite and reunite with the Wright Street Baptist Church.
Under Pastor Daniels’ leadership the Women of Faith Women’s Ministry under the direction of First Lady Paula Daniels and our devoted Minister’s and Deacon’s wives was initiated. Our Conquering Kings Men’s Ministry through cooperation with other men’s ministries in our community was formed. Also, the church’s Children and Youth Ministry (IROCC), and Spiritual Growth and Enrichment Classes have been renewed and the numbers of attendees on a weekly basis has grown and continues to grow because of the moving of the Holy Spirit. Our young ladies, also known as “Spirit in Motion” often express the goodness and glory of God in the dance. Most recently we have added the Not Easily Broken Marriage Ministry which seeks to guide and direct couples in our church and community to depend on the power of God as the primary resource for a successful marriage. In 2010 God opened up yet another door allowing Pastor Daniels to write his first play entitled, “Wisdom”. Since that time he’s written four more plays. They are, Destiny’s Decision, Deliverance, Taking It to the Streets, and his most recent, yet to be presented, “The Boys of Elmwood Heights”. But more than anything else, Pastor Daniels loves the Lord, and has continued to devote his life to serving and praising the True and Living God that saved his soul.
